New market, clear ambition: SPORT 2000 launches in Poland

With its market entry into Poland, SPORT 2000 International continues its international growth trajectory. Together with the Savio Group, the national organization SPORT 2000 Poland is being established, responsible for the rollout of the SPORT 2000 brand in the Polish market. The plan is to build a high-quality presence through company-owned stores, a franchise network, and a strong online business. The launch in Poland underscores CEO Margit Gosau's sole international focus since 1st of January 2026 and marks another consistent step in the global development of SPORT 2000 International.

The expansion into Poland follows Margit Gosau's clear international strategy. As CEO of SPORT 2000 International, she is consistently driving the organization's global development with a clear strategic direction, deliberately building on strong partners with entrepreneurial ambitions. "Poland is a market with enormous potential, high dynamism, and a young, urban target group that consumes sports, lifestyle, and brands very consciously. With the Savio Group, we have gained a partner who shares our strategic ambitions and positions the SPORT 2000 brand in the market with a clear commitment to quality," emphasizes Margit Gosau, CEO of SPORT 2000 International.

Poland is one of the most exciting growth markets in Europe
Shopping centers serve as social meeting places, especially for younger target groups, while influencer marketing and digital touchpoints significantly shape purchasing decisions. At the same time, brick-and-mortar retail remains a central component of consumer culture. SPORT 2000 International and the Savio Group are therefore consciously focusing on high-quality retail concepts in high-traffic locations that prioritize experience, customer service, and brand.

Two strong partners, one common goal
Lena Chicuk, owner of the Savio Group, sees the partnership as a strategic milestone. “We have very clear standards for quality, dynamism, and market presence. With SPORT 2000, we have the right partner to build a high-quality sporting goods retail sector in the Polish market. Our goal is to make SPORT 2000 visible in prime locations and online, as well as to set new benchmarks in the Polish sporting goods retail industry”, says Lena Chicuk. Ryszard Chicuk also emphasizes the long-term perspective of the collaboration: “The Polish market is demanding, price-conscious, and at the same time strongly experience-oriented. This is precisely where we see great opportunities with an internationally established brand like SPORT 2000. Together, we are building a network that will convince consumers as well as partners.

Savio Group: An established market player with a clear expansion agenda
The Savio Group has been successfully operating in the Polish sports and lifestyle market since 2008 and is one of the country's fastest-growing retail companies. The family-run business, headquartered in Warsaw and Rzeszów, operates both franchise monobrand stores and its own multibrand concepts, possessing strong omnichannel expertise. The Savio Group stands for high quality standards, entrepreneurial decisiveness, and the ambitious development of its retail formats. Several company-owned SPORT 2000 stores and the establishment of a franchise network are planned for the coming years. The Savio Group envisions its own flagship store with a sales area of approximately 1,000 to 1,400 square meters, as well as several medium-sized locations, each with 600 to 700 square meters. Simultaneously, a comprehensive online business is being developed under the name sport2000.pl, recognizing that a large portion of sports sales in Poland are generated digitally.

SPORT 2000 is consistently pursuing international expansion
The expansion into Poland is part of a clear international growth strategy. SPORT 2000 International remains on an expansion course and is currently engaged in intensive discussions both within and outside the EMEA region. Further market entries and strategic partnerships are being actively pursued. "Our international expansion is clearly focused on future growth. Poland is a reference market for our next stage of development, built on strong partners, clear retail formats and high standards of quality and relevance. This is where we are directing our efforts", emphasizes Dieter Schott, Commercial Director SPORT 2000 International.
